replacement of airport card in macbook

Finally, it got down to the root of my problem. I haven't been able to connect to airport networks, or any networks for that matter, for a really long time. First I thought it was a software issue, which it seemed to be in the beginning. But it was a very persistent problem, and finally I gave in, and tried to replace my airport card. This is actually a quite easy procedure, and didn't cause me to perspire more than average. And happy to tell everyone:

Apparently Apple has some issues with failing Airport cards in their 1st generation Macbook Series. And I was one of the unfortunate souls.

But Im happy again :D

UPDATE: Of course I was able to connect to networks, I just didn't use my airport card. I used a Belkin USB adapter, and by applying some RaLink drivers, I was able to get online. Somewhat cumbersome, but it worked. With the occasional kernel panic hick up.

Vintage Apple ad in Eddie Murphy movie.

Who would have thought, that an Eddie Murphy movie from before the Macintosh was even introduced, and before Eddie Murphy was a star, would have a plug for Apple. Well, Trading Places from 1983 has half a page of a vintage Apple Ad, on the back of Wall Street Journal, as two of the characters in the movie discuss science and finance.

A dollar to the one that can find the rest of the ad somewhere on the net?

The ad says: "The first problem they solve, is what to give for Christmas", referring to the newly released Apple II.
Uuuh, vintage!
